Leader of UKIP Calls Henley “a small town in Oxfordshire”

On BBC South Today last night Nigel Farage, leader of UKIP was interviewed about the David Silvester ‘gay disease’ affair.

He disparagingly said, “I’ve never met him. I’ve never heard of him. He’s one member who recently joined the Party who’s a town councillor in a small town in Oxfordshire.”

John Howell MP has responded this morning to this quote today saying, “What a patronising statement to make about Henley – simply ‘a small town in Oxfordshire’. Does he not realise just what an international reputation Henley has or what a fantastic place to live in Henley really is?”
