Police Arrest Burglar

Offender who broke into an Ancastle Green property via a rear dog flap, on the 4 January, was arrested in the Swiss Farm area. The male, who escaped the property by propping a ladder up against the rear garden fence, was located by police and all evidential items were seized.


Unknown offenders broke into a Friday St property between the 23-24 of December by forcing a rear door open with an unknown instrument. Unknown offenders accessed rear of house by jumping over neighbors garden fence. Offenders messily looted house, taking a number of items as well as stealing a car key and blue MG MGF from residents parking area. The front door of the property was bolted by offenders to prevent access to property from the front. Offenders are believed to have exited as they entered.

£5,000 worth of tools were stolen from a insecure garage on Gainsborough Rd by unknown offenders between the 9-23 December.

On Friday 10 January between 10.50am and 6pm a property in Reading Road, Henley was broken into.  Offender(s) have forced a rear window to gain entry and stole items including a laptop, iPad, cash and a grey gym bag.

Damage to Vehicle
A blue Renault Espace parked on Greys Hill was criminally damaged by unknown offenders using an unknown implement between the 2 and 3 of January. The rear windscreen was broken but did not shatter preventing the offenders gaining entry.

Shoplifting Crimes

Staff at Rohan Designs on Bell St noticed a man entering the store on the 24 December, between 12.00 pm and 2.00 pm, who was behaving suspiciously.  Staff since noticed that a coat was missing from a rack near the door. The male was described as 21 years with some facial hair and wearing jeans.

At Sainsburys on the 27 December at 1400 hours two females entered the store and grabbed two bottles of Jack Daniel’s before exiting the store, making no attempt to pay.

Restaurant Window Smashed.

Unknown offender smashed three windows of a Station Rd restaurant between overnight on the 6 January. Staff member reported the incident and CCTV footage shows that a lone offender ran up to the windows, smashed them and then ran away.

Jewellery Stolen from Hotel

A guest of Hotel Du Vin on the 14 December left  a pair of trousers and her jewellery pouch behind. When she called to report that she had left behind the items, staff informed her they could only find the trousers but not the pouch.
