Instead of spectating from the boundary, Zac Jones will have to send wishes of good luck to the 1st XI from afar this season as the blue sky and 28 degree heat of New Zealand seems to be more agreeable. Having left Shiplake in Summer 2013, Zac has travelled Down Under to experience a season of cricket on the sub-continent. Zac is having a fantastic time and is proving himself to be a very capable cricketer.
Zac is developing as a player at the Bracewell Cricket Academy in Napier, managed by former Test Cricketer Brendon Bracewell. He also plays regular competitive cricket in the New Zealand Premier Mens League for Central Hawkes Bay CC. He is currently ranked second behind Matt Sinclair (New Zealand Blackcap International) in the most valuable player ranking and the number 1 bowler in the league. Zac’s best match so far saw him take an exceptional 8 wickets for 46 runs in 10.3 overs. With the bat, his best score so far this season is 31 not out.
After the disastrous recent Ashes series, there is no doubt Zac has outperformed most other Englishmen Down Under this winter!
