They opened the show with a Jive to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’ which the audience clapped along to.  Richard Miles then said he could teach anyone to dance in just four minutes and asked the Mayor, Stefan Gawrysiak to take up the challenge to dance with Gemma Hart. Joanna aged 11 from the audience put her hand up to dance with Richard.  The Mayor and Joanna took to the floor and learnt a few steps and danced to the audience’s delight and they gave them a raptuous applause. The performance finished with a beautiful Rumba which Richard and Gemma danced to Lily Allen’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ from the new John Lewis advert. Richard announced that they would be starting an adults beginners class for ballroom and latin dancing in Henley in the New Year at the Town Hall starting on Monday 13 January from 7.30-8.30pm.  To book your place email info@milesschoolofdancing.co.uk  or call Richard on 07888 840942 The evening was sponsored by The Square restaurant and provided delicious Portuguese starters.  The raffle prizes were donated by British Legion Poppy Appeal and Lawlor’s Bakery who provided a box of Christmas goodies including a gingerbread house. At the end of the evening Julie Perigo invited sponsors, volunteers and performers to have their photo taken with the Big Society Award which would be going on the Big Society Award website @ www.bigsocietyawards.org There are only 3 nights left – why not join in the fun tonight in the Market Square.  Tonight’s sponsor are the Green Olive restaurant.
