On a freezing foggy night last night the Crossfire Hurricanes blew the crowd away with their medley of Rolling Stones songs. Mike Rowbottom, the lead singer said,”We’re in awe of the Stones but we don’t do silly dancing or any pouting!” They opened the set with ‘Painted Black’ and their medley included the classics ‘Honky Tonk Woman’ and ‘Brown Sugar’ which the audience really loved and danced along to. Mike was joined on guitar by Barry Rosier and Paul Cleverley and Peat Gregory on the drums.
The host for the evening was The Little Angel pub and was partnered with Copas Partnership who provided the turkey for the delicious turkey rolls which were served.
Councilllor, Sam Evans hosted the evening with Philip Booth from Sotheby’s International Realty, the main sponsor of the Living Advent Calendar. Raffle tickets were sold again for prizes donated by Boots and Copas, raising money for the four charities; Oceans Project, Henley Youth Centre, British Legion Poppy Appeal and Regatta for the Disabled.
Tonight’s venue is the Best of Henley offices at Empstead Works, just off Greys Road and partnering them tonight are Lawlor’s Bakery. The 12th surprise performance starts at 6.15pm as always.
