On Monday Emma Taylor and Banny Poostchi, campaign leaders, were joined by others to celebrate their victory of their campaign to save the Rainbow Centre in Market Place. The news that it was saved came late on Friday afternoon last week.
Emma Taylor who was behind the campaign said, “None of the children’s centres in the county are to close. Not one. There will be some savings to be made but this is a fantastic result.Thank you to everyone who helped with the campaign. If you signed the petition, passed one around, came to the demo, wrote to your councillor or MP, or attended a meeting then YOU helped save the centres. Well done. The campaign will continue to look at the detail of the budget and to ensure the centres are not threatened in other ways.”
