On Wednesday night the Henley Chocolate Cafe was full to the rafters with teams for the Mike Read Music Quiz in aid of the Philippines Typhoon Appeal. There were a number of rounds including a Bond music round and one featuring the acts from Mike’s second Top of the Pops programme he hosted in 1978. The guests enjoyed a delicious charcuterie and cheese platter followed by a dessert platter. Andy Tucker from the In the Groove record shop and his friends were delighted to win the quiz and the prize of a bottle of champagne. Vivienne Connery, the owner of the Henley Chocolate Cafe said afterwards “It was great to see so many people supporting this appeal and so far we have raised just over £3000. We have also had some great donations including a boat trip from Hobbs, a hamper and a large box of perfumes for a raffle we are running in the cafe until 24 December.”
