Fire fighting fun was behind the door last night at the Living Advent Calendar. The Henley Fire and Rescue team delighted the crowds with a play ‘Santa’s Got Stuck Up the Chimney’. The Shut family were enjoying their mince pies and sherry when they heard a noise and discovered that Santa had got stuck coming down the chimney. After trying to pull him out themselves they called the fire service. After what seemed quite a long wait, out of the doors came a miniature fire engine which the team had built themselves equipped with a ladder, a phone and fire hoses.
After trying to drain rod (latest Fire service technology!) Father Christmas out, they climbed up the chimney and pulled him out from the top to a big cheer from the audience.
The Argyll pub sponsored the evening and provided lovely hot mince pies and Hot Gossip provided the raffle prize.
Afterwards the children were invited to get a present from Santa and to have a ride on the the new fire engine.
Why not join the fun tonight and come along and see the entries of the film competition at the Regal Picturehouse. Get there early at 6pm to guarantee a seat!
