On Friday children at the schools in Henley raised lots of money for the annual BBC Children in Need Appeal.

At Badgemore School all the children and staff came to school in their pyjamas and onesies and raised £101.29.  No one was caught napping or having a sleep during the day!

Children at Rupert House came to school with crazy hair and they raised £357.92. John Howell MP, came to the school on Friday and loved their ‘Crazy Hair’.  He talked about his roles in the Constituency and in Parliament, and the year 6 girls then interviewed him in more detail in preparation for their visit to Parliament in spring.  The photo above was taken underneath the tree that Mr Howell’s predecessor, Boris Johnson, planted in the school.

Whilst at St Mary’s School, their appeal was called ‘Wear Spots and Raise Lots!’.  Each child donated £1 to Children in Need and they held a whole school cake sale after school in which all proceeds were also going to the charity.

Students at the Henley College raised nearly £150 for Children in Need.  Members of the  Student Union, including Amy Allen, Eleanor Salt and Sami Edris (pictured) dressed in ‘onesies’ to brighten up the day and patrolled the College rustling their collection boxes. Principal, Tom Espley, said: ‘Congratulations to the students involved in raising money for such an important cause and thank you to everyone who made a donation.

Did you do anything special for Children in Need, please send your story and photo to news@henleyherald.com
