Last night (8 November) lots of the Henley community turned up in World War II uniforms and 1940s clothes for the Poppy Appeal World War II Fancy Dress Dance at the Town Hall.   The event in it’s second year was sold out to the delight of  Shirley Lees, Poppy Appeal Organiser for Henley.

The tables were decorated with union jackets, old vinyl records and other memorabilia.  The guests enjoyed a fish and chip supper and listened to and danced to The Sound Force Big Band who played played a classic repertoire of the golden era of swing with special guest appearance from the Berlin Baroness, Maria Von Hackermann.
