Celebration Party for New Shiplake Memorial Hall

mem-hall1On Sunday families were invited to Shiplake Memorial Hall to celebrate and see the refurbishment and new extension of the hall.  The project has taken just two years to complete and has cost £460,000 which has been raised through a number of grants, personal donations and special events as well some reserves that the hall had.mem-hall4

 

The hall now has a new front extension with a disabled access ramp going into a lovely new entrance lobby with mem-hall3automatic doors, a large catering standard kitchen with access directly on to the hall and new toilets.  As well as the extension the refurbishment project has replaced the flat roofs at the back of the building with pitched ones and new insulation has been mem-hall2installed.

 

Eugenie Streather, one of the hall Trustees and organiser of yesterday’s event said, “We wanted people to come along and see the new facilities and we have split the hall today in two with one half showingmem-hall5 a wedding reception and the other a kids party and we have also invited local suppliers to showcase their services and products.”
