New Nordic Walking Courses

tmp_2013-10-11-07-42-12-20378744922037874492The SODC Go Active campaign is supporting a 4 week Learn to Nordic walk course in Henley on Thames starting this Thursday. More courses are planned in the coming months.
Nordic walking us a superb way of improving well being and general fitness and uses 90, of the body’s major muscle groups. It is suitable for all levels and can help with general mobility.
It is great for those looking to be more active but not keen on typical exercise, those with joint pain or health issues, ideal cross training for runners and other sportsmen or women, popular with all ages and fitness levels.
The course leads to a certificate of competence and you will be issued with a Freedom card which entitles you to some benefits and discounts. Once you have learnt the technique you can choose to walk with one of the local groups, on your own, or with friends.
