With recent financial donations from the Henley Round Table and employment law specialists Ellis Whittam, the Skate Park committee’s confidence, that they will reach their goal of creating a fantastic space for the community, is growing.

The Skate Park Working Group have submitted a design brief and their proposed budget of £250, 000 to various companies in order for them to develop a concept design. The committee are currently planning to apply for further funding from South Oxfordshire District Council’s Community Investment Fund, as well as the Tudor Trust and Tesco.

Despite the group not receiving the grant from Sports England for which they had applied, they were enthusiastically encouraged to reapply next year as their application had been very strong. The unyielding devotion of the Skate Park Working Group to their cause has captured the imagination of  local boys Alexei, Jake and Oscar, who recently posted their ideas for the skate park to the Chairman of the group. It is this kind of inspired passion that makes things happen in a community, and there is every sign that this is the case with the Henley Skate Park.
